During the pandemic (2020–2023), true collaboration across continents—or even cities—was nearly impossible. J. Cheng turned inward and in silence. In that solitude, J.J. Cheng unleashed her own creative power guided by the mystic visions that summoned sacred beings from mysterious distant realms—among them the Feng Huang, guardian of harmony and rebirth. The exhibition you see here is her personal manifestation of these sacred encounters, brought to life through the magic of both paintbrush and iPad. Each piece reflects both a mystical journey and a grounded artistic practice—where ancestral memory, cultural legacy, and contemporary tools converge. What unfolds here is not only an exhibition, but also a sacred dialogue between artist, myth, and lineage.
